Paula M. Symoens, R.N., M.S.N., C.C.R.N.

A nurse for close to thirty years specializing in acute and critical care, nursing administration, nursing management, leadership, team building, patient safety and more. Ms. Symoens graduated from Marquette University with her Master’s degree in Nursing. Marquette University is a private, coeducational Catholic university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the central United States. Dr. Symoens is the Nurse Manager at United Hospital Systems which is an integrated healthcare system serving the southeast Wisconsin and northern Illinois regions. She is also a current Ambassador of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and a member of the Greater Milwaukee Association of Critical Care Nurses. The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses is is a professional association that empowers progressive/critical care nurses and the world’s largest specialty nursing organization. She is also affiliated with the International Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing which is the only international nursing honor society worldwide, it is a global community of nurse leaders with members belonging to 475 chapters who live in 90 countries, and the National Association of Professional Women. Ms. Symoens also volunteers her charity to organizations including the American Heart Association, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and Special Olympics. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America focuses on finding a cure for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
