Susan Uchitelle, PhD

Susan Uchitelle is from St.Louis, MO. She is the original founder of Confluence Academy. The Confluence Academy is a non-profit public charter school system that strives to provide the highest quality precollegiate education to students in prekindergarten through high school. Ms. Uchitelle has a master’s degree in education from Harvard, A P.h.D. in educational policy and program development degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Washington University was named after George Washington, The university has students and faculty from all 50 U.S. states and more than 120 countries. Ms. Rudler worked for the Danforth Foundation in Higher Education, taught at Washington University, and worked as area supervisor of instruction for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Danforth Foundation was one of the largest private profit foundations in the St. Louis Metropolitan region. It closed its doors in 2011 after 84 years of operation and more than a billion dollars in grants distributed. Ms. Uchitelle has also published a book called “Unending Struggle: The Long Road to an Equal Education in St. Louis”. She enjoys writing and editing while she’s away from the class room.
